Cultural spotlight: Working effectively with Swedes
Working with people from a different culture requires awareness and understanding of business approach, communication, and leadership styles. Swedes are known for their many meetings, long decision-making processes and their focus on consensus and egalitarian leadership. Understanding the values and attitudes of Swedish business culture will facilitate the collaboration with Swedish colleagues and partners. This workshop aims to increase participants’ intercultural competence when working with Swedes by exploring the peculiarities of Swedish culture, its manifestations in the workplace, and how to successfully manage cultural differences.
Content: ✓ What is Intercultural Competence? ✓ Cultural portrait; local customs and values (history, society, religion, politics, education etc) and their impact on the Swedish culture. ✓ Swedish attitudes, behaviour and communication at work . ✓ Cultural parameters: Direct/Indirect communication, Consensus/Hierarchy, Task/People oriented, Work-Life Balance/Career etc. ✓ Advice on how to anticipate and bridge cultural gaps between my culture and the Swedish culture.
Who is the workshop for? Anyone who works with Swedes or in Sweden.
How it works: This is a trainer led virtual workshop. The event will be held in English but can also be tailored individually to your language needs. All participants receive a course certificate.
